@media Ajax - Conference time again
November 15th, 2007 by johnap
After having missing out on d.Construct this year (due to it selling out in a staggering 2 hours or something!) I’m off for a conference fix on Monday at @media Ajax in old London Town.
The @media events seem to veer more towards the design side of things, but this one (the first time they’ve an Ajax oriented event I think) is much more for the coder like me. With some pretty significant speakers from the Javascript and Ajax development world it promises to be pretty exciting:
- Brendan Eich - well he pretty much invented Ajax - ’nuff said.
- John Resig - leader of the jQuery library crew should be interesting - never used jQuery, but it seems to have a pretty devoted following and I’m intrigued to find out more.
- Alex Russell - key player from the Dojo Toolkit team - hot from their 1.0 release of the awsome framework for Javascript based Rich Internet Apps (RIAs), he, hopefully, will be as opinionated as ever (in a good way).
- Derek Featherstone - Usability expert, who’s been at the forefront of Ajax App. usability for a while - I cought this Canadian at d.Construct last year - something of a highlight for me there.
That’s just the tip of things, so, hopefully more detail on this as the conference goes on (interweb access allowing).
Also it’ll be a chance to catch up with a few mates - (Reliable) Dave and Helen, Alasdair and Jon (hopefully)
