news that matters from smartercode

SharpDevelop (a.ka. #develop):

March 14th, 2008 by bri

After discussions within Smartercode about investigating the ASP.Net MVC Framework, I decided to find out how the #develop project is coming along.

The thought process being, that it would be nice if the new Framework could fit in with #develop, meaning there would be no need to upgrade to Visual Studio 2008.

The good news is that #develop is still very much a “going concern”.
In fact, SharpDevelop 3.0 Beta 1 includes support for .Net framework 3.5!

Other bits of good news are surely that NDoc (no longer in active development) and NCover (recently commericalised) have been ditched in favour of Sandcastle and Partcover for documentation generation and test coverage reporting respectively.
The bad news is… there is no bad news!

Well, truthfully, it would be nice if Asp.Net debugging was built in… but in the meantime, until it is, you can’t go far wrong with this technique. Thanks Erik!
